1- Rustoleum’s Comfort Spray Paint Grip - Once you start making awesome stuff you are gonna need to finish it and if you have ever sprayed a larger project you know how tiring it can get. One way to save on finger strain is to use this comfort grip. I thought this was a silly item until I actually used one and now I don’t like spray painting without it.

2- Rockler’s Silicone Glue Brush - Another one I thought I didn’t need until I used it. It helps spread glue evenly and quickly, is reusable and the paddle ends helps clean up squeeze out. Plus, it is fun to pull the dried from the brush… almost as good as popping bubble wrap!

3- Painter’s Pyramid Stands - These non-stick pyramids securely elevate your project off the work surface with minimal contact allowing painted, stained or glued projects to be completed in one session with less mess. I used to use scrap wood, but it could leave big marks or dents on pieces that I would have to fix later. These solved a lot of those issues.

4- FastCap’s FastPad Standard Reverse Measuring Tape - When I first started making I went thru several measuring tapes until I found this one. I love how it is small enough to fit in my hand, has easy-read fractions on it and a built-in pencil sharpener. Plus, it is great for lefty’s or right handed people.

UNDER $25

5- Rockler Bench Cookies - I love these for table tops. The elevate the piece on the workbench for easy finishing and don’t leave a mark or dent in the piece. Funny how a lot of these items have to do with the finishing stage… I guess I need a lot of help with that starting out!

6- Rockler Clamp-It Assembly Square - You learn quickly in woodworking keeping things square is really important. But it isn’t always easy working by yourself, so these clamp-it assembly squares have helped me tremendously with assembling boxes or carcasses to projects. Better than an extra set of hands sometimes.

7- Kreg Cabinet Hardware Jig - You learn quickly jigs are the key to speed and accuracy when making. And this cabinet hardware jig is no exception… rather than measure every time when installing knobs or pulls and possibly get human error use a jig! This one has adjustable guides for accurate hole placement, built-in scales for repeatable results and adjustable edge guide for easy positioning.

8- Micro Jig Grr-rip Block - You wanna keep all your fingers… I highly recommend these for safety and stability when working on jointers, bandsaws, router tables and table saws. The have smart hooks that grab the tail end of the board to give you complete control and confidence to finish the cut.

Under $55

9- Wixey Digital Angle Gauge - Another thing I quickly learned starting out, don’t trust that your saw are setup correctly and square, especially if you are like me and started with cheap or second hand saws. This angle finder is easy and fun to use before starting a project to ensure your saws are set up properly so you won’t have to recut or force boards later in the project.

10- Jorgensen 6” One Hand Easy Clamp/Spreader - Like the name suggests you can use it with one hand as either a clamp or a wood spreader. Super handy to have in the shop for countless projects.

11- RZ M2 Dust/Filtration Mask Set - Unfortunately in woodworking you can’t get away from sawdust, so you need to protect yourself and not breathe in all the nasty stuff.
It has an adjustable nose piece and dual one-way discharge valves that eliminates fogging of safety glasses. Protects against; dust, smoke, odors, fumes, organic chemicals and much more

12- Jorgensen Cabinet Master 30” 90 Degree Parallel Bar Clamps - These are the ultimate clamps that very woodworker dreams of! Ideal for flat panel, box, cabinet, frame and panel doors assemblies or any other project that requires squareness or evenly applied pressure. Large plastic jaws assure the distribution of clamping pressure over large areas. The jaws stay parallel to assure squareness and prevent work pieces from bowing or lifting. Built in clamp stand allows clamps to stand upright for one handed use and easier/quicker sliding head adjustment. The sliding head can be reversed on the bar and the clamp then acts as a spreader.

Under $100

13- Saburrtooth 1/8” Shank Coarse Grit Starter Burr Set - I started power carving this year and am addicted. I can wait to add it into more of my furniture builds and I think other would love it to if they tried it. This is one of the tools you don’t necessary buy for yourself unless you already know you like power carving. And these burrs offer rapid yet controlled stock removal, easily smooths the hardest stock and can be used on wood, foam, epoxy, acrylics and more.

14- ISOtunes PRO Bluetooth Earplug Headphones - Another safety item that is needed in the shop is earplug… well these work as earplugs and have bluetooth so you can jam to your favorite tunes while sanding. They are OSHA compliant. They have 10+ hour battery life and 240-hour standby time gets you through long days without having to recharge.

15- Worx Pegasus Multi-Function Work Table - Great for your first workbench, a carving workbench, a job site workbench, a sawhorse. Just an all around versatile piece that I like having around my shop and house for projects. It is compact, foldable and lightweight for go-anywhere usage and storage – only 5” depth when folded.

Still not sure what to get? How about project build plans and a gift card to their favorite tool store! I have 8 plans on my shop to choose from all for $10 a piece.

Can’t decide now, pin the pic below and decide later!
